One Fair Wage Legislative Education Day
November 28 @ 8:30 am - 3:00 pm
We plan to make a strong showing on Nov. 28 to let legislators know we expect them to uphold the rule of law and reject illegal and unconstitutional tactics.
We must protect and defend the raise Michigan’s minimum wage workers just earned as well as Paid Sick Leave.
Please join us starting at 9 a.m. at our staging location, the Central United Methodist Church located at 215 N. Capitol Ave. (corner of Capitol and W. Ottawa) to retrieve your legislative folders, talking points as well as media/legislative training starting at 9:30 a.m. We will then kick-off an 11 a.m. press conference at the statue in front of the steps of the Capitol. Those who are not at their already scheduled visits at this time will then proceed to their respective legislators. From 12-1pm we are inviting our legislators to meet with us back at Central Methodist for discussion. Legislators from both chambers and both parties will get an invite. I could use some extra hands on deck from local organizers on this day for set-up, registration/sign-in, etc. at the church. Many of my organizers will be on the buses en route and leading groups.
We have 5 buses coming from various parts of the state leaving at 8:30 a.m. We will be providing box lunches to those who travel with us via bus.
8:30 Bus Departure from respective cities, then departing Capitol at 2:45 p.m.

We need all the support we can get on Nov. 28, so we are hoping that you will join us in Lansing for our legislative education day. We also have 8 more scheduled legislative visits on deck both in-district and in Lansing, from now through the 28th. Please connect with me as soon as possible if you have not already, so we can make those meetings as strong as they can be. I’m including an informational flyer for internal/ally sharing.
